"What are your holiday values? Those things we treasure most, and the hopes we have for ourselves and our families during the holiday season? Ultimately, the things we value the most make us who we are, but sometimes these get lost in the chaos that the holidays can bring."
One of my holiday values is generosity. This, more than other times of the year, I enjoy giving bigger tips, unexpected gifts, and saying thank you through words and actions. I "discovered" this value when I married my husband, who is a mail carrier.
I never used to give holiday tips to people like my postman, trash pick up, and other service people. But when I saw my husband coming home with several hundred dollars in tips during the holidays, I realized how generous people are. And how much that generosity means to a guy who works hard every day. It inspired me to do the same. I've always enjoyed giving as much or more than getting, so it feels good to be generous. So what are your holiday values?
