Ringing in my head

So I have a little confession to make. And no, it has nothing to do with stamping or scrapbooking. I hate to get up in the morning. Always have, probably always will. As a teenager, I had to set 3 alarms to get up in the morning because my parents pretty much gave up on the nice approach.

"Oh Leah...it's time to get uuuuuppp now...wakey wakey" they said.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" I would say.

I moved out on my own, and ever since then, I've been looking for an alarm clock that will actually persuade me to get up. On time.

I've literally bought 10 alarm clocks in the last 10 years, trying to find one that is not too bright, not too annoying, has a decent antennae that can get music instead of static, and that will withstand my slamming and cursing at it several times every morning. My current one gets about 3 stations from the next state over, which play either all-Spanish, all ads, or all hideous music. I'm a satellite radio snob, so it's really asking a lot for a puny alarm clock radio to pick up a station that I won't hate.

What do I do with them after I deem them unsatisfactory? I want to hurl them out the window, but that would be wasting a perfectly good alarm clock (well, perfectly good for someone else). I've sold several at garage sales, donated several to Goodwill, and I'm not really sure where the rest went.

Tonight, I went to Target to pick up my 9 million prescriptions, and while waiting, I wandered down the alarm clock aisle. Hmmm, I thought. I don't really like my alarm clock...maybe it's time to try a new one. Here's hoping that Sony's Dream machine will last longer than the previous 10.

If it fails, no worries...I usually ignore the alarm anyway and just rely on my husband.

"LEAH...GET UP!!!" he says.

"Ok" I respond politely.

Sleep well!
